Paramount Seed Farm

Description:
Paramount Seed Farm and Paramount Food Grains are located on the same small farm and owned by Mr. Leon C. Neher. The seed farm has been in business for over 65 years. The Food Grains Company started producing whole grain hot cereals, granola, whole berry, rolled or flaked whole grains, etc., 2 years ago, to meet the rising need for healthier food. We had the beautiful cleaned whole grains from the Seed Plant. We just needed to make them available to the public. Paramount Food Grains was born. We grow, (along with some of our neighbors), our own grains. Paramount Food Grains are kept in a refrigerated environment after rolling or baking to provide optimal nutrition. After opening the seed coat, by rolling, pearling or cracking, the interior of the seed is exposed to oxygen. Due to oxidation, the grain then looses up to 50% of its nutritional value in the first 48 hours. Refrigeration or freezing is the key to retaining the nutritional value. Since we do not remove the germ of any of our grains we also use refrigeration to control its ability to go rancid. The germ of any grain is where natural oils are found, (along with most of the vitamins and minerals); natural oils will go rancid within 7 to 14 days if not refrigerated or frozen. Paramount Food Grains is endeavoring to supply the most nutritious and tastiest whole grain products for you and your family.
